Slow cranking Thomas

RobVG ยท 2009-12-03 00:31

We have a Thomas 2200 with under 3000 hrs- Kabota motor. For a long time it's been cranking really slow. After a few tries it manages to fire off. Put in a new battery, new battery cables, clean all connections and it still does the same thing. Starter going out? Ideas?

Sounds like you have a hydraulic load on it. does it creep when sitting? may need an adjustment. The kubota should crank right over if it is not turning the pump under load.

I was looking for an old post and found this one. Put a new starter in it and if fires up like a champ every time. Thomas wanted $700 for a starter. Local rebuild shop was able to order a new one for $240.
