Hello. Somebody has already worked with a lisle 16000 cylinder hone because I would like to buy one but I hesitate because I do not know this brand because I always worked with sunnen. Lisle 16000 It's more affordable and comes with 3 stone sizes comparatively at sunnen. Thank you!
Work great. You can get half for tolerane. Stones are easier to get too.
Thanks mikebramel. Do you use just it to make motors, because me is for finishing in line boring. Is it fairly solid?
Hey Mink, Lisle are okay Check eBay for Ammco 500 cylinder hone http://www.ebay.com/bhp/ammco-hone http://www.ammcobrake.com/accessories/engine-cylinder-hone-stones All 'Rigid' type hones will work okay and all honing requires 'flooding with clean cutting oil' to prevent loading the stones. When you hear the drive motor speed up the stones are not cutting and then burnishing is occurring. Burnishing folded the work surface peaks into valleys trapping micro metallic cuttings. Manual adjustable hones, you'll spend more time adjusting stone pressure than honing. You can make adjuster using a motorcycle brake handle and cable to adjust while honing...brake handle located on the drill motor handle. Sunnen has the best selection of different types of stones, aluminum oxide, CBN etc.
The only problem is that Ammco do not make a stone of small diameter, 1 3/4
