Hey Guys, Anyone familiar with the supply of machines and components out of Japan? Some of those guys must be really hurting since the disaster that has taken place, have heard kawasaki are having trouble supplying components, Isuzu having trouble suppling engines.. This will surely have some major effects shortly on worldwide supply??
yeh.. we still havent heard too much, all the main manufacturers closed down for a month but i think Japan's main priority is looking after their own at this stage (and you cant blame them) replacing the huge amount of emergencey vehicles and heavy equipment which has been totalled which they need to sort the country out is their main issue at the moment but they would be mindful to supply some export markets to keep clients happy i think the main truck/equipment factorys are ok, but rumor is alot of plastic componet factorys which supply other manufacturers are damaged which has a flow on effect to all makes the biggest supply issue is panic buying from companies to snap up stock on the ground, Mitubishi have alot of stock of last years model range in the country which they did to counter the euro 5 rollout this year (which hasn't been realised yet) which won't take long to move in the current climate i would think with the strong AUS$ euro and US trucks are pretty good value at the moment and i suspect will jump in sales by years end
