Hi I have a takeuchi tb045 excavator ,i have just replaced the input shaft in final drive Put it all back together and now it has no power in the final drive If you lift track off the ground it will turn but if you put track on the ground it wont move it trys to Any ldeas what the problem could be
Welcome Fire1aus! Did you have any of the hydraulics apart to do the job? Does your model have an internal park brake in the travel motor? Do any other circuits show weakness in hydraulic power - boom;dipper;bucket etc?
Hi alrman I had to pull final drive down to replace input shaft It does have a brake that seems to be releasing All the other hydraulics seem to be fine Thanks mick
Was the shaft you replaced stripped through wear or broken? Seems wierd that it had power to damage shaft & now none ..... Do you have any pressure testing equipment?
The shaft has worn from wear and tear stripped teeth in end of shaft I dont have any pressure testing gear But i recon i could get my hands on some
Was it worn on the motor end or the planetary end? Was the mating component worn as well? - Could it be slipping?
It was worn on planetery end and i replaced the mating cog in the planetery part as well I dont think its slipping Im thinking it could be something restricting pressure it turns about half the speed of the good one
Correct me if I am wrong, I think the travel controls are mechanical levers that connect to opposite ends of the control valve. So the hydraulics are split for LH & RH travel. There should be test ports on each end of the control bank & you will have to test the relief pressures (to start with) for left & right hand sides. I don't know the exact relief pressure, should be around 3000psi. Usually when there is a pressure/flow problem, other circuits are involved - the reason for the earlier question. In the field, & without a flowmeter - you could swap the two relief valves. If the problem remains on the same side you have a pump or motor problem. If it changes to the other side you have a bad relief valve.
Would it be possible to get an air lock in hydraulic system Or maybe a bit of crap got in one of the ports when i had the hoses off
An air lock is not likely the problem. If contaminants have entered the system ...... it definitely could do some damage. Were the hoses capped off while it was apart? Taped up with some plastic or rag at least? If not, how long was it apart? Indoors or out?
The hoses where capped off and final drive had rags in inlets But there was sand and dirt everywhere, tryed to keep it as clean as possible It was all done in a shed I will try to get some pressure testing gear tomorrow Thanks for being a great help alrman i will get back to you how i went Mick
