dont know my taks very well and thus not the TL10 but the tracked taks seem to be good by reputation for a heavy machine, the tree boys seem to like them a lot. tho the real answer to your question is it worth buying - do you have the work for it? a contractor mate just got quoted 137k for a new tak excavator, 4.8t size which i think is the 250. sounds a bit pricey to me... if you are talking to a local tak dealer can you get a price on a new one with 4 buckets and a tiliting hitch please.

Takeuchi just announced bringing the TL10 and TL12 to the US. Got my attention when they said they're 'its most powerful track loaders to date.' TL10 ROC: 2,403 lbs. (tipping load +4%) TL12 ROC: 2,833 lbs (tipping load +24%) Both are more powerful than the TL250 that previously topped the line. Specs are a little scarce at the moment, but there's a little more on the TL10 and TL12 intro here .

I think they'll be very similar to the current machines they'll replace other than some minor changes to weight (ROC) and mandatory Tier IV. Tak is not known for big changes. They used to advertise their "new" TL26 every year, but it was the same machine every year, then one year they said they were introducing the "new" TL126, and all it was was the TL26, but painted in their current red and gray instead of their old green and gray.

You'd think engine horsepower would be a standard bit of information for a press release, but apparently Takeuchi does not agree. The TL10 is powered by a Kubota V3800CRT diesel, and the TL12 by the V3800CRTI. I've asked for more complete specs and hope to get at least that much. The TL10 is replacing the TL250, by the way, and the TL12 is either a new size for Takeuchi, or it replaces a model that we've not seen here in the states.

Contacted my buddy at Bobcat and he has their product bulletin already. The TL10 is actually replacing the TL240 and the TL12 is replacing the TL250. The nomenclature stands for the rough machine weight- TL10 (10,318lbs), TL12 (11,618). TL10- 92hp gross TL12- 110hp gross Standard and high flow rates and pressures are pretty much the same as are the ground pressures, widths, speeds, dump heights, reach, machine heights, etc. The big changes are to the engine (Tier IV) and some changes to the ROC due to relocating some components in the machines. Base price for the open cab TL10 is $64k and about $71k AC/heat. The high flow TL10 with cab is around $73.5k. TL12 open cab- $77k and just over $83k for AC/heat. TL12 high flow is just over $86k. Add high temp cooling kit ($9500) and other goodies such as ride control, pattern changer, etc. and well...the price goes up. Machines will be available as soon as the Tier III TL250s inventory is gone. Hope this helps.
