Hi, I finally got the dozer running and it sounds fine but another problem came up. When we started to move the dozer yesterday, we were able to move the forward reverse lever (the one at your crotch) at will. The high low lever, just left of it, had a grinding feel. We did not force the issue. We moved the clutch lever back and we were able to get it to go in gear. Then pulled the clutch lever back and moved the dozer about 3 feet backward and disengaged the clutch. We then moved the dozer about 3 feet forward. At that point we were unable to pull the clutch lever back to engage the clutch but the clutch was still engaged. We noticed some smell like a luberication smell coming from the clutch area. We shut it down andtook the inspection plate off. It didn't smell like clutch smoke. We noticed it was very warm to the touch. The dozer had been setting for 6 years and we hadn't greesed the clutch area yet. Do any of you have an idea on fixing the problem. We plan to go down and give the whole dozer a lube job today. Any help will be appeciated. Thanks, bullseye
Found the problem. The clutch lining had come loose.
