TD20C overheating

my td20c is running hot, replaced both thermostats, oil cooler was replaced last year, radiator is clean. no bubbles in coolant when running,,, I do have coolant dripping out overflow, and temps will stay around 170 after letting it cool back down, but will jump up to 240 during a good push. temp was in mid 80s today and humidity high. air seems to be moving through the radiator well. thinking that cooling system is not under proper pressure, but wondering if im missing something else.... I heard someone mention on red power that a tc was sucking air and somehow heating coolant through oil cooler.... a tranny line and o ring was replaced I believe, but not clue if that's possible... thanks all! bought a newer cat but I still prefer this old girl! just cant bog her down when she is pushing.

Is the belt in good shape and tight enough? Next step would be to take some temperatures with a non contact thermometer, thermostat housing going to the radiator, neck on the engine coming back from the radiator, air in and air out of radiator, TC oil going into and out of cooler. All as soon as possible after a "good push".

Good advice Delmer . My gut feeling is it's time to pull the radiator & have it "rodded " out . Had to do that on my fiat Allis 16 B few years ago . Dozer ran fine in cooler weather but when temps hit 90 F plus would start to run in the red . I pulled the top radiator tank and ran water though a garden hose at the bottom inlet . Could immediately see at least 20% blockage on tubes . Used a dip stick from a chevy turbo 400 transmission to rod out the core . Got 359 of the 360 tubes to flow good . No more over heating issues .

We have an old 20E with the big V8 IHC engine, don't run it a lot, but it started heating up, the fan belt was oily and loose. Replacing helped, then some where in the valley pan under the injection pump engine oil started leaking, the fan throwes it ahead into the rad so it heating again. These engines can be expensive and problematic, so we might convert it to a 8.3 cummins, which they use in the 15E's.
