TD8 G trans oil level

Should've asked this question years ago since I've owned my Dozer for years. How do you check trans oil level,cold not running or idle in neutral like auto trans. Thanks for replys.

    The H dipstick has markings on both sides, cold and hot.

    Thanks - I have wondered the same thing on my TD7G. I have checked both running at idle and stopped and have not seen much difference but always wondered what the proper way was.

    Don't know if its apples, but my D39p/TD9h has check with engine off on the dip stick.
