Am having problems with the lifting arms on my fergy , they were working fine and then would not let me drop the slasher back down when i pushed the control handle. It did eventually drop down but now wont go up or down, oil level right. The cover where the control bolts on was loose and I re-tightened them but no go. Can you access the pump from the top cover plate uder the seat or do you have to split the diff and gear box? Any help would be great, thaks, Garrie.:bash
No gurus on ferguson tractors out there ?
Garrie I did some work on one of these a while back. The pump sits on the bottom plate and is driven by the PTO shaft, the high pressure oil passed from the bottom plate through a gallery on the rightside casting to the top plate (oil seal here very important). There is a piston on the top plate which pushes on the lift arms and it sounds like your problem might be there. ***NB*** before you lift off the top plate you must open a inspection cover on the left side and through this you can disconnect a fork like lever. Failure to do this will cause a lot more headaches !!! Hope this helps
