thanks to all who replyed for us new guys with questions.one last question,how important is it to belong to a union?do you need to be in a union as a operator?i contacted are local union in are state for operators and seen they had apprenterships. figureing i could save money buy going there instead of operator school i called and spoke with a man that told come down pay 15.00 we tell you the good/bad and give you a certificate(kind of like a hunting license-his words)then you go sell yourself to contractors.how do you sell your self with 0 experiance?would you not rather have training first so you have all the basics?i am not sure how to go about the training part.train first then join a union.or are you still able to be a operator and not be in some type of union-say like a waste land fill.and to be certified in osha and mining would you not have to belong to a union first to get that. can anybody describe the union test,can you sudy for it? i guess its more than 1 question but thanks again for all your help.
