The door just flew off I swear…..

:Banghead So I lost the door to my best friends JD 7810. Going down the road and i noticed the door was slightly open. I could feel a breeze. Just barely cracked. In high gear, didn't cross my mind to slow down, going into a good 20mph wind. U can see where this is going. I reached to pull it tight shut, accidentally push on it enough to let more of it catch wind, ripped the damn door clean off. ointhead Dang forward swinging doors... Luckily, the door survived a ride over the duels and landed softly in the ditch. Broke the brackets on the cab. Nothing else. The shock had rattled loose about 20 minutes earlier and was going to look at it when I got to barn. It wouldn't have stopped the door, just messed more stuff up if connected. The tractors immaculate, 1100 hours, just missing a door...........:Banghead i will post picture soon as i can bear to look at the tractor.

I bet the remainder of the ride was a bit nippy in the cab. :tong

a 7810 with 1100 hours!? that would be a sweet ride! 20 sp tranny?? i bet its worth more than what he paid for it. something like that would prolly bring around 95rk or more around here. one problem with tractors these days is they have a drive shaft from the engine to the tranny (exposed) our 7210 and 7200s are kinda loose. im assuming thats mormal. 5000 and 9000 hours. the 7210 w 9000 hours has never been in the shop! unbelievably reliable. well the rearward swinging door is sure nice for entry and exit. we have never had a problem with them. our neighbors 7700 with 12000 hrs door just broke randomly going down the road. 7000 series deeres are everywhere around here.

Yes, 1100 hours. Its almost sad that it gets worked that little. They bought it brand new. 16 speed tranny. And yes its very clean. Minus the missing door. Got lots of torque for JUST being 165-175 horse. They will wear out before it does... The older 4000 series still dominate around here. See quite a bit of the 8000 series jd tractors. 7000 series aren't uncommon. Just seems like there are more 4000 and 8000 floating around west central ohio. But thats just me.

Dang! Two miles into the wind with no door. That must have been brutal Asphalt/Dirtman! I agree with you about the 4000 and 8000 series. They pretty much dominate in my area as well.

It was not a fun ride home. My pride took big hit....

Never a good feeling. It sounds like the glass survived though.

9000 hours and never in the shop is impressive! The 7000 series are good tractors. We have a 7410 at home with the 20spd power quad, it has been great, a 2001 with around only 5000 hours, but no problems as of yet. The exposed drive shaft should only be on the MFWD models. It runs from the transfer case to the front axle.
