I have a Thomas T15 mini excavator with a Mitsubishi L3E diesel engine. The machine doesn't get ran on a regular basis but often. I replaced the starter about four years ago with one from Napa that was supposed to be a match and was for the starter that was replaced. That starter had 12 teeth. It went out last year. I had a diesel mechanic replace that starter with what he said was actually the correct one with 13 teeth. Now that one has went out. Looking into starters myself, I'm finding supposedly starters that are compatible with 13, 14 and even 15 teeth. Does anyone on here know or have experiece with these machines, engines and starters and can tell me which one is actually the right one or the best fit?
