Ticking sound on start 305.5E2 WE205680

Need Help – CAT 305.5E2 – Ticking Sound, Won’t Start SN: WE205680. Year 2018 Having an issue starting: When I turn the key to the ON position: I hear a repetitive ticking sound (sounds like a relay or electrical actuator). Sometimes the small dash lights come on after a 2–3 second delay , sometimes they don’t come on at all. The engine does not crank , and nothing happens at the starter. When I turn the key OFF : The ticking immediately stops . About 1 second later , I hear a small mechanical sound under the operator seat , like an actuator moving or retracting. What I’ve done so far: Battery is fully charged and tests good. Replaced the starter and solenoid (both are brand new). Battery terminal at starter showing full voltage was not able to check key turn to start for the signal wire - can do just need to get a friend to come over and turn key. Replaced all 6 relays in the main relay panel with new ones. (took off the panel under the seat by feet). Checked ground connections. Even with relays removed, the ticking persists , which makes me think it’s something further downstream or hidden. Just hoping to get some advice before I start to tear more of it apart.

Fairly mechanical engine you have, but it does have an electronic governor down beside the engine and a little control box under the seat near your right foot. Every time you key on it should do a self test trying to go full range of movement and back again. Clicking coming from there possibly? How's the ground strap from machine frame to the cab? Do you have a schematic?

ill take off the ground strap - but it looked solid. so under the seat with front panel removed seems to be a ECM, small window inside LED goes to green when key is on. (does red/yellow then lands on green). the clicking could be from inside it - but it just feels its under the seat - and i didnt see that on any schematics.

as for the govenor, on other units if i had one go it was mostly throttle and engine RPM, but didnt feel like this as i cant get starter to kick this time.

That'll be the factory Product Link (GPS tracker). The governor control box I'm talking about is silver usually. Anyway I don't think that's your problem, just might be where the clicking is coming from as it's trying to self-calibrate. You'll need the right schematic. Maybe somebody nice may post it, cough, @Nige , cough. The key switch is a good place to start. Getting constant power to the 105 red wire? Getting power on the white wire with key on? And power to the 307 Orange wire when you hit start?

IIRC he already has it from doing previous work on the A/C.

Maybe the sound is an electric fuel pump that isn’t moving fuel.
