Hello to all, i am a complete newbie in this area. Been looking to acquire a used cat305.5 up to 308 for some time To help with shores a the ranch. Tomorrow i am flying to check on some used 305.5e2, 307e2 and 308e2 from 2021/2022 with around 500 to 1000 hours on them. My goal is to put a tiltrotator on it. TRS4 etc… Anyone knows if one can be fitted to such machines ? from what i have seen online, the ones with tiltrotator come with some sort of touchscreen to lock/unlock head, adjust various functions … it seems from the pics seller has sent me that those E2’s i am considering are not equipped with such touch screen. They do have 3rd function and ”opposite thumb” installed. attached are the Vins of 2 of them If it may be of use. I appreciate any input and thank everyone taking the time to educate me. Cheers
Be very careful with low hour Cat auction machines. We buy a few things at auctions but have heard from a few local dealers that we buy from too that there are a ton of late model, “low hour” cats at the auctions recently. Apparently they are European machines that have been imported and the hour meters have been replaced as well as wear items like rubber covers on the pedals, seats, and rubber floor mats. The only way to know this is if you have access to the cpu to get the raw machine data, which you can’t typically do at an auction. I’m not saying don’t buy anything at an auction. I’m just letting you know what I’ve heard recently.
