track tightener 200 hitachi

Goodmorning everyone Where would one expect the grease to come out if the seal is blown on the track tightener? Mine is fully compressed after loosing the track , we now have the track in place but cannot tighten the track back up because the grease is leaking out. The leak appears to be at the front end(idler side), but it is a little hard to see . I was thinking the seals would be at the opposite side of the assembly.

Your grease will appear around the piston no 11 and the seals 08 to 10

Don't try to take the assembly apart with out releasing the spring tension .That recoil spring is under extremely high tension .Take adjuster out to where they a compress it in a press so it can be released slowly and safely

I just ordered both track adjusters from AMS....had tracks slacking off and after getting them out of the track frame found that both had broken springs. Wasn't worth trying to rebuild them and paid about 660 each. Safer than rebuilding too.

FYI they were for an EX-100-5
