have an option to buy a drot 40.....junk, locked up screamer, not moved in 15 years.....but dose have a new set of rails and 30in street pads on it. question is what machines would they fit. measured it up and the rails are the same as my old straight d5 cat. 7in center to center of pins. this would be a parts machine. not sure if there would be much other useful parts.
Seven inch pitch doesn't fit much anymore that I know of. I had to replace a track adjuster cylinder in a PC200 Dash 2 Komatsu excavator. One side had old seven inch pitch while the side I was working on had seven and a half inch pitch. The owner remembered that they had to do that because no one made seven inch pitch anymore. The machine stays on site and they don't move enough to worry about the extra wear on the sprockets.
Cat is 6.91 rail pitch, only Allis and IH/Drott were 7.0
my old d5 rail is wore out so that makes sense. looks like its off to the scrap yard. easier to push on a trailer compleat
