I have used both 15/40 and 30w before on old Cat poweshift tranmissions without problem.We have mild winters and mild summers here.I assume it's ok to mix them from time to time but maybe somebody will tell me otherwise.I have half about 15gallon of each in the yard and an oilchange to do on a D8H tranny
Either one will work just don't mix them. Bob
have mixed them before Bob during top up but you have me worried now,what are the risks?
Mixing could knock out the adpacks for both oils. It would make them more susceptible to oxidation, foaming.......
