Have you seen those videos of a front-end loader doing wheelies, a backhoe climbing a rail car, or an excavator picking up a quarter? Can YOU do those things? If your answer is YES --and you have a big, attention-grabbing personality -- we want you to appear on this new, unscripted TV show for a major cable network. Producers are looking to hire men and women who operate construction and heavy equipment (scrapers, trenchers, tractors, loaders, excavators, bulldozers, cranes… you name it!) with extreme precision. If you’ve got the skill and the personality, then you can join our team of on-camera experts to take on a series of exciting “Big Machine” challenges every episode. To apply for the show, email [email protected] with a photo, your name, age, phone number, city/state and a brief explanation of why you are perfect for this show. CONTACT PRODUCERS TODAY! * This will be a paid position. Deadline to apply is January 25, 2012. Applicants must be properly licensed construction/heavy equipment operators, at least 21 years of age and citizens or legal residents of the United States. The show will film in late March 2012.
And, if you make it, I'm sure we can come up with a HEF T-shirt for you to wear on camera.
While i think this would no doubt be very entertaining, i think this is just another way to set bad examples with heavy equip. :badidea: I would rather have the T-shirt ! BUT... you can bet Ill be watching :falldownlaugh:falldownlaugh:falldownlaugh
I think it's just going to set a bad example. Front end loader wheelies = fired
Another TV show promoting the abuse of equiptment. Making all of us look like fools to the average Joe and Jane.
Exactly how I feel
Now see you're never going to get what you're looking for; all the really good ones that already have on camera experience are in Canada. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROQ648xo0Ek
What's worse is these types of TV shows incite gullible machine operators to try it themselves and that leads to nasty accidents.
Ya'll are way to serious its TV.
You mean really good at drivin pickup? haha we haven't seen u do to much operatin lately jason.. we need some 385 bombin truck in cab vids man! get on it!
Hey vantage-tes, you are right, the goon loading the truck with the 9 sure wasn't going to pick up the tab for the damage! Its a great industry, it just need promoting right. I'd like race car drivers money for riding a hoe well!
You might be right, but the things that would be impressive to us on this forum would go right over the heads of the average TV watcher. What does the average guy in the street know about fine grading? Or how many utilities are under the sidewalk he is standing on?
try digging for utilities in a plant that has no locates or as builts, just a best guess as to where stuff may have been buried years ago... every scoop is a scratch... no hogging out the material. It may take a whole day to fill a dump truck. Most of the time the labors are hand digging around the " not supposed to be a pipe here" As for the loader doing a wheelie.. show me one on the rear wheels with a FULL bucket.
Tricks are for kids and usually the recently unemployed. Tricks will get you booted from most every company. Want skills try excavating a piece of fiberglass water line, one touch is almost a certain flood. Asbestos piping isn't much better... Live high pressure gas lines, touch them and you are instantly booted from the job site, inspectors show up with micrometers to measure the thousandths of inch of steel that was remove from the pipe. then determine the repairs needed.
Man i could have made a 8 hr HIT movie out of all the trixs / mistakes and dumb, bad , stupid, damaged, things. Machines and operators i have employed or have been on the job with, and don't forget some just plain funny things that i have seen and that have been done and said. And some i spose i've done myself. And i think that's prolly whats keeped me entertained and keeped me working in the civil construction game for the last 40 years, in this ever changing industry that i Love. Cheers Leroy
