Hi guys i am planning to buy a 32o cat. I would like opinions concerning this UC. What do you thing about it? Good condition? % to go? Thanks.
This machine looks like its been sitting a while. It has some frozen joints. We see alot of tracks with that same problem. You can try to soak them in diesel and they might loosen. This method has only worked for me a couple of times. You will probably have to have them pressed apart and cleaned. The link height looks good. What do the bottom rollers and sprockets look like? Do the bushings have much wear? How many hours are on the machine? Quick Trax
i agree some issues in the tracks they shouldnt look like tht frozen joints and or pretty loose also check for flat spots on any rollers also
I think it looks to have alot of life left but a good pic of the sprockets would be nice. As stated previosly it looks as there are a few frozen links but that might loosen upp once you start running the machine, i wouldn't worry about it.
I would worry about the frozen joints. I have seen joints so frozen that the bushing would crack and have seen bushings also start to spin in the press fit in the links.
The unit has been worked in chemical or salt water. From the photo is appears that is a "C" model unit and I've never seen a "C" model Cat with stuck tracks like that. As was stated previously, once they get stuck they don't normally come loose. I would tend to shy away from that machine.
they sure dont maintain the tracks tightness and the stuck links you should ask how long they have been struck i find the best way to lossen them up if there not stuck bad driving them around the yard also what are tempature where you are when pictures are taken i my hitachi 300 has brand new undercarraige and i was working in some watery area doing a run off ditch when and over night my tracks would freeze in one position and i would have to drive forward about 200ft to get them loose and rolling around good just a thought but this doesnt look to be the case do to it doesnt look like that machine has moved latly i good luck
