Hi, I have recently got a v60b forklift, its propane and only has a 6 digit serial number. Im having an impossible time finding the correct year and where to add zero's to number, to find proper service information and parts as its a 6 digit vin. So far I know its boggy ( low on power but starts and runs ok ) as well as has 0 brakes. Previous owner says brakes leaked off before and after filling them the air bled out after a few days and worked for a while. It appears they leaked out again I would like to find some info on this so I can address at least those two issues to start, and go from there. If anyone is familiar with these old machines any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Tag is very worn.. Model v60b Serial 37N766 Attachment 1742-44 brudi s.s.
Any Caterpillar/Mitsubishi forklift dealer can give you this information, then sell you parts books for your exact truck as shipped.
Well, fill it with brake fluid, pump away as you bleed them, get a pedal, see if it stops. Stops, should begin to get a fluid leak from inside a wheel. Pull that side and kit the wheel cylinder. Casting number to NAPA and they can serve you. 4 cyl or 6 cyl Continental? I forget but remove you ignition points (or check the gap and brush thru with fine emery cloth to defog) and the plugs. Get duplicates at a NAPA store, Gap points .018, plugs on .030. Get it running, warmed up. Loosen the distributor hold down bolt so you can gentle rotate/twist it. Find the sweet spot where it just "rolls" over.... (you'll know when you find it.) Check your LP tank. May be so low all you are getting iot vapor, Get it filled to eliminate any fuel supply question. This is may be worth what it is costing you....
As TD24 said, any MCFA dealer will be able to get you where you need to be on parts/service information on unit. As for the engine if you can get data off the engine tag these are usually easy to find info online in my experience having been a parts/service guy for MCFA.
