can anyone tell me what the valve looking thing is near my hydrolic filler cap on my kubota mini ex ? i will try to post some pics after work but can anyone help in the mean time ? cheers
If the valve is on top of the hydraulic tank, it will most probably be a valve to release the little pressure that builds up in the hydraulic tank during use. Before removing hydraulic components on your machine, it is advised that you push the valve and release all remaining pressure in the hydraulic tank. This should save you from getting wet. Hope this helps.
does it have a handle on it if so its a pattern changer?
No it dosent it looks a hose or something plugs into it it has a hex head With a nozzle coming of it ???? I tried to upload pic but won't let me?
here is a picture
looks like t.p.r.v. tank pressure release valve it lets the pressure off the tank if you depress it you should hear it hiss as the pressure lets off
Is that sealant around the base of the fitting? That looks home made to me.
hi hsfhsfghf
no its not sealent its dirt i checked today.
also you cant push it in as you were saying it is just there. like you put a small hose on it or its a breather of some sort ???
so are you saying if i push in hard enough ( it looks like its solid to me ) it will go in. (sounds a bit dirty what i just wrote )
Looks to me like it's just an elbow set up to vent the tank, are you sure it's not just open to the tank? There is sometimes a hose run to a filter or a clean place.
you might be right about that if you have a look at the picture to the right of the elbow y ou can see a hole in the body where i presume the hose would drop into ???
Here is another view of the picture.
Now the picture is up, it just looks like a basic tank breather.
There's supposed to be a hose connected to that tank vent and the hose drops down in that notch that you can see in the pic. They typically come from the factory fitted with clear vinyl tubing, which deteriorates in sun light and falls apart after a few years.
thanks for all the help ill put a hose on it or is it ok with out one ?
I would say that a hose is cheap insurance. Keep dirt away.
A hose wouldnt hurt. As tootalltimmy says, itl keep dirt out. also keep rain out.
