hi everyone, i'm having an issue with my volov a30g VCE0A30GE00752904 wich has about 1500hrs. it keeps giving me brake pressue high event codes EF5203-0. ive changes the brake oil and filter. ive also changed the air drier. the brake cooling oil is very dark. almost black, even after ive changed it twice. also the brake lights stay on even when the pedal isn't depressed and the truck is off. anyone ever experienced this? thanks in advance, David
anyone know what type of hydraulic guages to buy to test the brake pressure?
Stauff 20 or some places call it universal hydraulic test.
EF5203 can be triggered by SE5201 or SE5202 both sensors are on the accumulator rail behind the cab. try them first, if it's not them it could well be a dying pump causing you issues
@sfrs4 it was indeed the sensors at the back of the cabin on the accumulator rail. thank you very much for that. im having a next issue with the coolant fan not functioning. ive tested the pressure (good) the solenoid valve when suplied with 24v directly it spins the fan full speed.but when it is running its not spinning. only when i shut off the truck it spins for a few revolutions. any idea what that might be?
You could still have problems with the brake circuit pressure or sensors. IIRC the ECM opens the solenoid to the fan circuit after the brake circuit is happy. This way the brakes always have priority.
Hi, the dealer that sold us the truck is busy working on it. they put a switch in the cabin to activate the fan. now the fan works. but the brake system isn't charging unless the fan is off (no suprise there) does anyone have a hudraulic and electrical schematic for the truck? volvo is being difficult with releasing the information

hi all, i spoke to soon, it worked for 4 hours then started malfunctioning again. i cleaned the valve. replaced the hydraulic oil and filter. there were small metal flakes on the magnet. less then 1mm in size. i'm getting code ef5500-12 on the dashboard new brake acumulaters installd. any help would be appreciated .
Did you inspect the fitters when you removed them? Was there any signs of the filter media breaking down? It sounds more like the brake/fan pump P6 is having issues. It could be the regulator PWM2602 sticking from contamination or swash plate could be binding. Any issues with Fan speed?
dear all, the problem with the machine was the brake pressure sensors. when the sensors got hot they would send erratic brake pressure. tested it with the manual guage. pressure readings were within spec. replaced the sensors with updated ones. all good now
