Hi wonder if anyone can help, have a 2002 olvo ec25, the oil warning light is flashing after a bout 45 mins of work, have changed oil and replaced filter and also replaced the oil pressure switch, now it seems to only filicker occasionally but only after about 45 min to an hour of work. Shut it down and restart and then fine again for about an hour. Any ideas???
The safest thing to do would be to get a reading on your oil pressure. Pull the oil pressure switch and hook up a gauge to the port. Bypass the pressure switch (only for the test). What weight oil are you using? It sounds like it's temperature related. Either the oil is getting too thin and losing viscousity when it heats up or there's a bad connection between the OP sensor and the warning light that loses conductivity when it gets warm.
I second all that joispoi said, check the pressure, and check all connections, let us know how you get on Aiden
Finally sorted the problem. Checked oil pressure all ok, changed oil pressure switch no change, changed oil and filters again no change, cause of the problem was a blocked radiator!
How did you determine the radiator was blocked? I have a ec25 that after 45 minutes it loses power and heat light is faintly on. Thanks
