   Thank you for wiring secamitcs . Can you please help me out how to trouble shoot my TECU. VECU and ECU . What value should i get at which point . My engine starts and the machine is smooth but ENGINE WILL NOT REV UP I checked all the plugs and wires to ECU all properly hooked up . In manual mode the machines works but in Auto mode doesn't rev up with rotary knob. It has a code of 128 PID 91 9. The machine was even checked by volvo technician and many more but no help . i will appreciate if you can help me out . please reply on my email [email protected]

   Hi I checked voltage at J1939 fast link by TECU point 40 39 its giving .3 V ( mili volts)

   Looks like your potentiometer is a sensor 4201 connected to TECU at pins 31 and 22, also ground pin 14, J1939 is a computer signal wire, judging by information you provided it is not a CAN BUS issue, but a sensor input issue. The potentiometer or “variable resistor” you actuate when you turn your engine speed knob basically it is that knob. Does engine speed change when change modes?

   OK so it is a potentiometer then, that knob sits on a shaft of potentiometer. You can blindly go and buy and replace it, but if it was problems with wiring it’s not gonna help. Potentiometer supposed to change resistance when you turn the knob, you can test it with multimeter.

    FMI 9 is “abnormal rate of change” looks like ferrite track of the potentiometer is worned out and switches from OL to value at very fast rate, I would replace it.

    The engine revs up in manual mode by the ( toggle switch) and works in high power with out shock locks in manual mode. the machine doesn't change to parking . Crawiling etc on the monitoring unit by even turning the knob in auto mode and engine stays on idle.

    Three wires in one connector and one wire is spare in other connector which is not hooked up . Switch part number is 14503037 you can Google it please .

    Can you please advise where and which wiring manual i can get for trouble shooting. The easiest one which shows the location and at which points to take measurements .

    UFFEX already gav you diagram, start by checking if you have the ground at those three wires on wire harness side, then measure resistance between any two of the contacts on sensor side, resistance should change when you turn the knob.
