New to the Forum. We purchased one of these Units this spring and are already running into issues with the Emission end of things. Unit de-rates Dealer comes out cleans up sensors etc. couple of days later same issues We have put after market delete kits in some of our trucks that we had the same problems with and have had great success. I am wondering if anyone knows if these delete kits are available for Komatsu's Tier 4 engine yet. Thanks

I don't know but you will void the warranty! Are you using ULSD? Idle a lot? You still using KAC Low Ash Oil? I work at a Komatsu dealer and I run into some Tier 4 problems sometimes!

Good afternoon Bob. Local dealer is still doing servicing not sure about the fuel, and yes am aware of the warranty being void. We are in the aggregate business and run the loaders pretty hard about 20 hours per day without to much idle time but will check on Komtrax to verify. Having said that we purchase at least 1 of these a year and knock on wood have never needed the warranty for any engine or drive train issues. We are concerned that with our previous experience with the emission problems that occurred with our trucks after getting some hours on them (and seeing as this loader is still new) we will run into to much down time with sensor issues etc.

    Have him check the doser

Like DK88 said "check dozer" If the Komatsu dealer keeps the doser nozzle clean from carbon/soot you should have no problems !Do you have a turbo 2 air precleaner on your 500? We put them on all are quarry machines!

We have a Centri pre cleaner on this machine and are in the process of having the fuel tested. Spoke with the crew Foreman this morning and unit is doing 8 burns in a 24hr shift. A lot of down time with the burns lasting anywhere from 20minutes to over an hour.

How many hours is on the machine? Are you above 1000 meter of see level? Any KDPF action codes? Regen "burn" seems to be to long. Anyone clean the dozer nozzle?

Machine has 2000hrs. We are at 750 meters above sea level. Yes to the KDPF action codes. Nozzle has been cleaned and tested. From what I am getting from the Dealer is they report to Komatsu and they tell them what actions to take. Hoping that problems get rectified soon.

Harley, Can you provide the serial number. Have seen issues on the Komatsu 140 Tier IV interim engines that a reflashed ECM has fixed, very specific serial number range though.

We had a wa500 that we installed a new ecm to fix this issue.

I will get the serial number to you on Monday off for a couple of days of R&R. Am curious to see if we fall in that threshold. Thanks to all for the feed back.

Harley1, You may want to ask your dealer about Komatsu Factory Campaign T12E09-1 and S12040-3. Both of these deal with ECM issues and the latter is for elevations slightly higher than yours but may be the answer. Good luck!
