hello everyone, just joined today but i have been reading posts for years as a non- member. wanted to post a pic of the rear of this dozer so maybe you folks can tell me if the two holes are for hydraulic hoses for a ripper? it will be delivered on wed this coming week. i think i have one pic of the seat area also and there is a plate where the control levers would go. how hard would it be to get it set up for a ripper? thanks for your help.

Those holes are for the control rods for a cable control unit

I wouldn't be surprised at all that it was hauled with load binders attached to track pads. It's a fairly common practice.

  10. #1066ranchogato2022-05-23 16:44

is that becuz they weigh so much, their not afraid it will move?

  11. #11John Shipp2022-05-23 17:42

It's quicker than dragging the chains out as well, a shortcut.

  12. #12Acoals2022-05-23 22:14

It's actually officially DOT legal to bind that way ....

  13. #13fastline2022-05-23 22:33

Exactly! When my equipment goes down the road, I am there to pissed someone off and tell them they are not pulling 50T on my tracks as a hold. IDC how heavy the dozer is, it is on ice skates on that trailer! It wants to slide off. Why are people so lazy....... As I always say "it is never a problem, until it is a problem"

  14. #14_Weldman_2022-05-23 23:28

I got a road to test that DOT legality on, won’t be DOT that will test it. You actually trust the guberment to safe guard your equipment. That’s like saying local building codes when adhered to will make sure you survive the natural disaster they were written to mitigate damage from.

Just because it's law doesn't mean it's right for every application.

Seen track hoes secured like that many times. I think it's better to use a chain and go from one side across the width of the trailer instead of just track pad direct to trailer on the same side.

hello guys, well its and unloaded and it arrived with four load binders on the tracks and two chains with binders on the blade bar. here is the # off the hydraulic tank 34H931 and the serial is 48A7081. will i be able to put rippers on it fairly easy?

  18. #1866ranchogato2022-05-24 20:14

i appreciate any info on whether or not i can put rippers on this beast! thanks, for the help!

  19. #19Acoals2022-05-24 22:10

Well ... If a fellow is driving in such a way as to need the chains to hold the machine on the trailer on "That Road", or any road, I would say that is a much more serious problem then wether the machine is secured by the tracks. A driving situation where the binders would tear off the tracks, or whatever the fear is with this, is going to amount to a discussion of wether the wreck is still chained together, of separated, but it's a wreck either way.

Unless you can find a complete donor machine you will probably be much better to weld back up rippers on the blade.

  21. #2166ranchogato2022-05-24 23:29

    ok, thats a thought, thanks.

  22. #22Bluox2022-05-24 23:29

A 34H is a 2 valve hyd system. So you have spare valve for a ripper but I have no idea whether you can put one on. Bob

  23. #23skyking12022-05-25 00:02

I chain the 120 on with binders to the tracks, but I pull across or in on each track, not out as in the dozer picture. That just seems.......wrong.

  24. #2466ranchogato2022-05-25 00:31

    thanks for the info bob.

  25. #25chidog2022-05-26 00:16

The holes are for slinging the tank to lift it. Many folks scab an eye on top the tank to do that.
