Would water in fuel cause white gray smoke? We have a Kubota B21 that we started for the first time since winter and about a minute after it started it ran like crap for about 10 seconds and died. Now when I crank it over all it does is smokes white gray colour. Now if water is the problem what would be the best way to get the water out of the fuel lines?
Just change the fuel filter and add a little kerosene or anti-gel, my man. If that doesn't do it, I'll buy you a new engine.
Start at the tank and change any filters and drain any water traps between tank and lift pump. Take off line coming from lift pump at the injector pump and pump it till you get good clean fuel coming out. If you don't have a manual lift pump and fuel does not flow try using a air blow nozzle while hold a rag over tank fill. go gently as you may have a poly tank which can split if pressurized. next take the injector lines loose starting with the one closest to injector pump and crank it over till you get good clean fuel. repeat and then tighten them up and it should fire up.
A little Methyl hydrate ..HEET ..after you changed all the filter's ...don't forget to refill the new filter's with fuel when you put them on ..helps a lot and you wont have to hand prime as much to get the system up ... white grey smoke ..a lot of white grey smoke or a little ... Ive seen this a lot on older equipment that had bad injector tips ..or the orifice's are plugged ... How cold was it there today ?got a block heater ..plug her in ...that will get ya alot of smoke to ..and she will die of and have a hard time starting did ya put any ETHER to her ... if you do dont use the glow plugs prior to if she has them ..give her a little huff ...wouldnt hurt just to remove the air filter also ..just to rule out any restriction in there ..dont have run her just watch the differences with or with out ..
