WHAT DOES MEAN OF EVENT CODE E2344-2 ON CAT 770G DUMPER
Welcome to the forum. Please be aware that it is not good etiquette to post in all capitals as it is considered the equivalent of shouting. In answer to your question the E2344-2 Event is generated when the parking brake is applied before the operator moves the transmission control lever to neutral. So it appears as though your training people need to have words with the operators and remind them they should shift the transmission to neutral BEFORE applying the parking brake, not after.
Sorry Sir. In 770g dumper gear shift lever and parking brake lever are same in one. Actually, when we move lever from park to drive vehicle not moving and in active events E2344(2) is displaying dumper s.no is ECM 00445.
My apologies. I had forgotten about that. I was thinking that the transmission control and park brake control were separate but this was on older models. Does the E2344 Event happen when shifting the transmission into gear in preparation to drive off or after stopping when shifting the transmission into neutral to apply the parking brake, or both.? Also can you supply a machine Serial Number please. I would like to look into how the interlock mechanism between the transmission control lever position and the parking brake functions.
When shift lever in park position there is no event code. When we move shift lever from park position to revers or drive position after few seconds code will displaying and buzzer sound is coming and vehicle not moving. When back to neutral or park position code disappearing.
Thanks for the information. If you can provide a machine Serial Number I will look into it.
ECM00445
Please try a quick test. Engage the transmission into drive. When the E2344 Event pops up shift the transmission control back into neutral and without pausing move it immediately back into drive again. Do not wait for the E2344 to go off. Does the transmission engage into gear the second time.?
So the shift control sends a PWM signal to the Powertrain ECM depending on the position of the control lever. See the table below. To measure the sensor output you will require a digital multimeter capable of measuring Duty Cycle and a copy of the electrical schematic for the machine. If you do not have the schematic I can send you a copy. The shift lever position sensor is shown at the bottom of the second illustration. The sensor Duty Cycle should be measured between wires M997 and J764.
While you are testing, check whether or not the parking brake solenoid valve (#1 in the 2nd illustration) is being energized when the transmission control lever is in any position OTHER THAN Park. The parking brake release valve is shown as #4 in the 1st illustration and is part of the group of valves located inside the RH frame rail directly behind the cross-tube assembly.
Ok Sir. Thank you. I will check and come back you tomorrow.
Also in respect of the Parking Brake valve solenoid. If you find that the solenoid is being energized when the transmission control lever is moved out of the Park position, install a pressure gauge on the parking brake test point and check to see if the solenoid valve command is actually resulting in a pressure rise in the parking brake hydraulic system. There is a test point marked "C" either on or very close to that valve.
