I thought this was a wheel weight, but after cutting it off the wheel, it is pretty light. Question is, what is it? What was it used for? Kind regards, Dave
I cant tell you what is was used for, but its definitely home made.
looks like it was or could be used to lift the wheel to move it around, what did it come off of?
It came off of a 70ish 580ck. Take a look at the rear wheel in this picture:
(It was only on the one side)
Tie down point. Sorta kidding? Or a random piece of scrap that somebody decided was a wheel weight.
Maybe it was used as a kind of connector to hold something to the wheel?
for pulling tape or cable through pipe, lift wheel with stabilizer and put in gear and winds it up like a makeshift winch?
mount for clamp on duals? Beats me!
Maybe for adding weight ( tying it on )when the hoe was removed for loader work ?
Its a homemade mount for clamp for duels.
none of all those..foot step so you can sit on tire and eat lunch....
Home made rigging for putting chains on the tire? Was there anything like it on the inside of the rim?
I believe it would be to wind long strands of cable together like a rope. Then what ever they twisted up could be pulled through a conduit in one pull . So they would lay the cables out about a hundred feet . and the tire off the ground spinning would twist it like a hair braid .
Being a rwd tractor could be for hooking a chain to pull your self out half a revolution at a time?
- or as many revolutions as it takes or as many as this device may hold - depends on chain size
Can't really tell what it is :/
