Rubber Ball shaped hood catch on either side of my D4H? The hood is bolted in multiple places already (but some are loose). Are these really needed....or are they there to dampen vibration?...because i have one broke and my hood has a tendency to vibrate like hell at certain rpms.
Are the rubber catches OEM ? I would guess to allow some movement rather than hard bolting panels. Allowing movement reduces fatigue cracks. Or quick access to check fluid levels.
Yes, they are to allow movement and lessen the rattling. 9M-3835 latch, rubber $9.80 Doesn't include pin or anchors, just the rubber.
