I bought a 2010 Cat 252b and it has a strange bucket attachment that I can't seem to find anything about. Can anyone assist?
That's someone's own personal creation
X2 - Home made. Oh yeah Welcome to the Forums Zb! Glad to have you. IMO if you are going to be using this machine regularly I would fit it with a proper quick attach for the machine, the standard skid steer quick tach.
It may have used a hyd. cylinder at one time but it's limited to just that bucket. Take a look at a std. quick attack. It might be fairly easy to convert yours. If not try to find a used one. Probably pricey to buy a new one.
You will likely want to replace that coupler if you plan on ever putting another attachment on it. You might try a heavy equipment bone yard and get a used one. A coupler off a burned unit machine would perfect since the fires seldom get to the far front of the machine.
Quick attaches are mostly universal now so it might not be too hard to adapt a used quick attach from a different brand than Cat. Might have to modify the lugs and holes to fit your machine.
