Just picked this thing up a few months ago. Had to replace a final and am now going through all the fluids/filters. Book says SAE 30 for the hydraulics. Is that 30 weight engine oil or 30 weight hydraulic oil? i got a barrel of engine oil already but got thinking as it will have detergent and emulsify water. Wont hydraulic oil be detergent free and separate water? Anyone got any advice?
We run Hy-gard in all our hydrolics. I don't think you have to but we do just so there is never a worry of putting the wrong fluid in a machine. NAPA also sells a equivelent fluid, but there about the same price around here.
