I just bought an older (1969 or there abouts) Case 580CK Series B Shuttle Tractor. The power steering fluid is low. The manual says to use Case TCH oil. Is there a viable substitute I can use? Like automotive power steering fluid? I'm new to owning and operating a backhoe. I appreciate any tips. Thanks
Many types of fluid would probably work, but its probably a good idea to follow the Case recommendation. That being said, you don't have to use Case brand TCH hydraulic fluid. Many hydraulic/tractor fluids are TCH compliant and would be fine. I know NAPA and tractor supply both sell TCH compliant fluids - read the back of the containers and see what they say. TCH may also be called MS-1210.
