    Well according to SIS: D7G TRACK-TYPE TRACTOR Machine Serial Number - 65V09438 (Build Date - 25/05/2004) D10 TRACK-TYPE TRACTOR Machine Serial Number - 84W01127 (Build Date - 17/03/1985) Engine in D10: D348 ENGINE - MACHINE Engine Serial Number - 98S03254 (Build Date - 07/03/1985, Test Date - 08/03/1985, Ship Date - 13/03/1985)

  2. #2Kit19652019-07-08 15:01

Wow. Thats not a very old d7g. I thought it was from the 80ties. There where 24 d7g standing. And they have not moved for 6+ years. The seller didnt know much about them. The tracks and all where brand new. Never used. What would be a fair price for a d7g from this year and as new condition?

  3. #3Tones2019-07-08 16:04

Buy the lot. There's probably a good market around the world for those.

  4. #4Welder Dave2019-07-08 17:49

Looks like they were built for a specific purpose. Would be a good market for them if they could be imported and used in the country of choice.

  5. #5Kit19652019-07-08 20:51

I dont know who ordered them new but clearly all the same specs. They all have a massive winch in the rear. Sure they can be shipped to any place in the world. But i just need 1 for myself. What would be a good price to offer?

  6. #6Welder Dave2019-07-09 01:46

It depends on the emissions and other requirements of the country they are going to so to say they can be shipped anywhere is not accurate. Have they just been sitting and never used? Might need to worry if seals and stuff have dried up or algae in the fuel tank and lines. If they were stored inside and run as good as they look are worth a fair amount especially if they don't have all the electronic crap like new machines. One of the Cat experts would have a better idea on price. What are they asking for them?

  7. #7Kit19652019-07-09 02:11

Sure. Never thought about emissions since for me it doesnt matter. Yes they have only been sitting and are not used or almost not used. Tracks look as if they have never driven at all. Stored 100% hot inside and dry. Seller said he will provide new fuel lines and seals kit and new batteries by each machine. Dash and seats all still in plastic. Total 24 machines. All the same with winch. He doesnt ask a price jet. He asks me to offer ;-(. Thats why i need some help to estimate a fair price.

  8. #8Welder Dave2019-07-09 02:26

Those machines would be really desirable to anyone who could use them. It seems really odd the seller knows nothing about them. Seal kits would be great but a huge undertaking if you had to put new seals in everything. They may be fine being inside though. I'd guess they could be worth over $50,000 maybe even $100,000. The seller should give you an idea though. If he wants 100K and you want to pay 25K, you're not likely to make a deal. Like was said if you could make a really good deal, buy the lot of them. They are desirable and must have been made for certain markets because the D7G wasn't generally available in 2004.

  9. #9Kit19652019-07-09 02:31

The seller knows nothing. He bought 24 of them years ago from a bankrupt mine in an auction. They are all standing in a free trade zone warehouse. They got shipped from the usa and never left the customs area.

  10. #10Welder Dave2019-07-09 02:37

Wow! They shouldn't be hard to sell. Hopefully the Cat experts will offer some better advice.

  11. #11Kit19652019-07-09 02:48

There where also some cat 980 loaders a couple of D8, D6m lgp and the old (still new looking) D10. But i only want 1 D7. Since i think the D10 is a little to big for me after sitting in it lol.

  12. #12R.D.G0132019-07-09 04:46

They are definitely not new, just look at the corner tips and the marks on top of the blade on the D7, D 10 has bent fender above the sprocket, a coat of paint hides a thousand sins, might be more to the story.

  13. #13Kit19652019-07-09 05:17

Yes d10 is old and used. D7 have a couple to a couple of hundred hours on them.

  14. #14Kit19652019-07-09 14:01

He gave me a price. 65k usd for 1 machine. Would be 55k each if i took 2. Is this a fair price?

  15. #15DMiller2019-07-09 15:37

Judging from the blades on the front two and a few to the rear whatever they were used at was AGGRESSIVE as well NOT treated respectfully(Weld indications of added then removed pieces AND Repairs), that would explain the new rails, check if ALL the rollers are new as well a old rollers will garner no affectionate praise as they eat the new rails. Some of these could be Dupont Overhauls(Paint to LOOK Pretty). Some of the ROPS and Sweeps appear Custom Made, NOT a good point.

  16. #16Tones2019-07-09 17:43

After reading the comment above and having a second look the D6 at the front left doesn't have cutting edges either. The sweeps on the same tractor also look bent. Are they old seats pilled up in front of the blade? Maybe only worth scrap value.

  17. #17kshansen2019-07-09 19:23

Makes me wonder if these were repainted and let to sit somewhere and the paint faded some. Also at least one of the ROPS guards looks to be damaged, bent down in the area above engine. I'd think it would be a good idea to pick out one you are interested in and have a local Cat dealer come out and inspect it, maybe pull some oil samples. I know a one off sample test is not the best thing but might at least give some idea of what the condition is. I'd do the coolant too as it is probably the original fro 2004 and not in too good condition!

  18. #18DMiller2019-07-09 19:48

Are a number of Similar for sale in Rotterdam, VERY similar but a little older. Seems to come to mind a man on another forum used his machine for spreading scrap metal in ships holds, very messy and destructive on his machine. I would wonder if there are weld attachment points been stripped away from the Undercarriage trucks is if these were not also used similarly.

  19. #19Kit19652019-07-09 22:23

No. These are from usa. And standing now in customs in myanmar. They are as new.

  20. #20Shimmy12019-07-09 23:50

Sorry bud, these are not new, and have way more than a few hundred hours. Unless maybe they put used blades on them.

  21. #21Kit19652019-07-09 23:56

Ok. I just say what i see at the machines. And they certainly look amazing to my eyes. But my point is. What is a fair price? I just need a machine to work.

  22. #22petepilot2019-07-10 00:17

fwiw. find the exact cost to you to get 1 machine to exactly where you want it then add 37.500

  23. #23Kit19652019-07-10 00:18

And you are correct about blades. Those are put on after. Customer wanted this blade type. But the local customer never got the machines. While in transit the place shut down.

  24. #24Kit19652019-07-10 00:19

Extra 37.5? For what? They ask 65 for 1 machine. Or you mean i should pay max 37.5k usd?

  25. #25petepilot2019-07-10 00:25

    37.500 plus shipping max

  26. #26Kit19652019-07-10 00:31

    I will offer it.

  27. #27petepilot2019-07-10 00:49

you may get a big surprise, i`m betting they are not being stored for free, plus near 20 yrs. old

  28. #28Kit19652019-07-10 01:03

He said they pay 8k usd a month for all machines in customs storage. And 6 years they are 15 years old now

  29. #29Kit19652019-07-10 02:38

    W we agreed on 40k usd plus shipment. So i think i got myself a cheap 2004 D7G ;-).

  30. #30Mother Deuce2019-07-10 03:27

The D10 fender I have seen on a new T... comes from someone back blading and picking up a basketball sized rock with the track and conveyoring it right up under the fender.

  31. #31Kit19652019-07-10 03:31

I see them making a fender on a new 980 when parking it backwards. Cant wait to try and start the d7g

  32. #32Kit19652019-07-10 03:32

    Btw the d10 was 90k usd. But i buy only 1 d7

  33. #33Mother Deuce2019-07-10 03:33

Been in a lot of mines... and mining dozers don’t have winches typically and D7’s?? In a mine? Probably not. They almost look like pipeline pioneers. Purchased for a project and laid up after completion. Also generally speaking you will just about never see a late machine in a US mine without a cab due to dust restrictions. The sweeps are screaming pioneers or heavy duty forestry.

  34. #34Kit19652019-07-10 03:48

100% for a mine in myanmar. They all bought the machines in the usa. And they never got them delivered. Since the mine closed down and the machines stayed in customs.

  35. #35Kit19652019-07-10 03:50

And yes. They where for large open pit forrest gem stone mining operation. So sure nothing like a mine underground

  36. #36Nige2019-07-10 06:39

Sounds like whoever bought the tractors originally had a jungle clearing job to do before they could access the gemstone orebody which is about right for that neck of the woods, it’s covered in tropical vegetation and some of the highest quality teak timber in the world.

  37. #37Kit19652019-07-10 06:45

Yeah. Maybe good it got stopped. Since i heard that the new government stopped the project due to environmental concerns and pressure of the community. It landed me now a 2004 D7G for 40k usd plus shipment.

  38. #38kshansen2019-07-10 08:20

Have you looked into environmental regulations for where ever you are planning on using this machine? Just would be a shame to get it to you project and find out the local rules won't let you use it!

  39. #39Kit19652019-07-10 08:22

Yes 100% fine for where i use it. Just for building sites and pushing dirt around fish ponds. And 0 problems with emissions.

  40. #40John C.2019-07-10 11:00

Looks like you hit the jack pot for machines. D7s are not very common on the market after the year 2000. Even if they are half as good as you describe you got a great deal. Checking the markets, asking prices at retail on anything newer that the 2000 model year is around $60,000 and auctions show low hour older machines running from $40,000 to $60,000. The down side of the purchase will be rubber parts such as seals and hoses but the machine appears to have been out of the sun in a warehouse and not cold soaked over time. The seat upholstery might even be OK. The only aspect that makes me wonder is the issue of current ownership. You might make sure you have possession of the machine before transferring funds. I've seen similar situations where items stored for extensive amounts of time get caught up in legal issues of fees, adverse possession and even outright fraud.

  41. #41Kit19652019-07-10 11:39

I agree with you. And this also struck me today, i got the feeling this is too good and easy. Yeah upholstery is new, all still in plastic. i dont want any surprises with custom fees or any other issue with exporting them. So i try to have someone sort that all out and give me the exact exporting/shipping price on paper.

  42. #42Welder Dave2019-07-10 12:52

Sounds like the guy may have been desperate to drop his price by 25K without much fuss. If he owes storage fee's or there's other issues they might not let the machine leave. I'd proceed with caution. It does sound a little too easy. How long have the machines been listed for sale? Maybe there's a good reason they haven't sold???

  43. #43Kit19652019-07-10 13:11

Thats what i was thinking today. Too easy to drop 25k usd. And machines have been for sale locally for 2 years. And not 1 is sold. But not for sale on the web, just word to mouth. They are not for sale on the international market. I got the tip from a guy who knew where they are standing. I found an add on the web, on which i did an inquiry. And that guy said that his machine is sold (D7R) but he told me he knew a big lot of D7G.

  44. #44Nige2019-07-10 13:34

Also beware of the possibility that some sort of import duty relief deal was done when the machines were originally imported (it’s actually quite common especially in mining and where governments are involved). There may be a problem in that because relief on import duty was given the machines cannot be re-exported without settling the unpaid import duty from way back. I would guess that would be to the buyer’s account....

  45. #45Kit19652019-07-10 13:40

Brrr i was so happy today and now it makes me think i still not have a machine ;-(. Yes it was a government supported mining operation. The government closed it and as i understood is paying the mining company for the losses occured. So that might explain why they sell for cheap. Tomorrow i know the re exporting answer. Thanks for the replies with all the points to check and be aware of.

  46. #46Welder Dave2019-07-10 14:47

I think I'd get a lawyer involved to make sure you don't pay for something you can't get or have a bunch of extra (hidden) fee's.

  47. #47Nige2019-07-10 16:18

It's quite usual for a government to give incentives in the form of reduced (or even zero) taxes for the importation of new equipment and spare parts if it is entering into a profit-sharing (or royalty) system with a mine operator. From what you say I would pretty much guarantee that this was done in regard to these machines. It's just a matter of finding out if any deferred taxes/duties that were not charged at the time of the original importation may have to be repaid to the government in order to get the machine out of the country.

  48. #48DMiller2019-07-10 17:56

Now I would be squirming, A LOT especially if sent a deposit or check.

  49. #49petepilot2019-07-10 20:59

make sure all i s are dotted &t s crossed & good luck, happy bulldozing

  50. #50old-iron-habit2019-07-11 00:01

Has anybody actually gone and seen these machines in person? if it is to good to be true it usually is.

  51. #51Kit19652019-07-11 01:49

Yes i went myself in person and seen all machines.

  52. #52Kit19652019-07-11 09:37

No shock today. Its 7% in vat that needs to be paid on the machines when re exporting. So that adds 2800 usd. So all good ;-).

  53. #53Nige2019-07-11 09:51

I hope you got that in writing from someone who actually has the authority to say so ......... More years than I care to remember working in far-away countries gets me twitchy.

  54. #54Kit19652019-07-11 09:54

I am also always sceptical. But lets see how loading goes next week.
