this is probably a stupid question, but are wheeled skid steer final drives the same as track machine final drives?
Not a dumb question. Very similar in how they work, ie take hydraulic power and convert to rotational force. Different though, in that the wheel machine technically have a drive motor, not a final drive. See linked blog on final drive s
