Hi all, First off let me apologise, I'm sure this is a question that's been asked many times before! Can anyone point me in the right direction of which hydraulic oil to use in our electric Crown counterbalance? The motor is making the noise of lifting/lowering the forks even when they're not moving, apparently it used to do this a lot and nudging the gear slightly would stop it. Now it's doing it all the time! I checked the hydraulic fluid level and it's completely empty. Thanks, in advance. Rick.
Welcome Rick! The Crown manual says Union Unax AW-150. You could probably get away with almost anything though.
Thanks mate! Do you know how much it needs to fill it from empty?
Book says "Approx. 6 quarts" It also says with the mast fully raised on a level surface, you should have 1/2" to 1" of oil left in the resevoir when checked with a "clean dowel". Also says on machines operated in below freezing temperatures - use "Petro Fluid #606"
