Hello people, I'm an ex plant mechanic site fitter from the UK, and i'm trying to do some research on the hydraulic seals suppliers in the link below , but as usual cannot gather much info asking direct. Trying to gauge what sort of market position the likes of the Diploma Plc businesses of - Hercules, Bulldog seals, Dygert, All seals, HKX have in the U.S & Canada. What sort of market share would you say the above companies have, and who are their main competitors? Have Diploma Plc somewhat cornered the market in seals? Thanks for any help!
Opps, here's the link ; http://www.diplomaplc.com/our-businesses/seals/hercules-fluid-power-group.aspx
That is a difficult question to get an answer to I think. This a heavy equipment forum and although the machines we use and repair are significant consumers of hydraulic seals, both in building new machines and replacement seals for them, they are just part of the millions of other applications that require those seals. If you narrow your search down to construction and mining equipment that would put different meaning on your question.
Fee fi fo fum...do I smell the blood of a sales Mum?
I think you do.
Actually, not a sales pitch, i'm just trying to do some research on whether Diploma plc is a good investment, but if you ask them direct they get all suspicious. So thought i'd try here, as you are the guys on the ground.
Why does their share of the market have anything to do with being a good investment ? They are very aggressively buying up the hydraulic seal manufactures. Not a good thing for us, the consumers. Have you read their acquisition history ? They are involved with more than hydraulic seals. But you may know this already. If you haven't already read about there acquisitions here is a good place to start. http://www.diplomaplc.com/about-us/acquisition-track-record.aspx
