Whoops

Well Tuesday will be busy as for a day off, I did this yesterday 1/16 on semi frozen/thawing ground trying to work a little backfill at the house, slid sideways in reverse coming out of a nosedive at a trenchline and rail caught just enough to roll the nose off. Couple well placed hours and be back in business. Once we get moved in will have access and some time to get the spare rails on it.

Dennis, I feel for you, at least it is not in a mudhole or creek. Good luck.

Took a little over an hour and half to roll the snake back on, once spring arrives its back in the shop to drag off the right truck frame reseal the final and then to install better rails. If get rambunctious will give the old girl a facelift paint job after. Old rails are worn slick but too hard to find today so these will go for a pin and bushing turn then sit as spares, should the old tractor die out they will be barterable sales items as 7.0 pitch AC rails no longer made.

An addendum, the house(reason I slipped the rail) is coming along nicely, weather is holding well enough for outside work and the insulator to come finish the spray foam so we also emptied it. Just hoping the sheetrock can get in before weather turns back to crap.

DMiller, Very nice looking home. We also have been under construction and living in a couple rooms during the project, this gets to be a challenge. What part of MO are you located in?

Just outside of Hermann. Have a home in Warrenton we have on the market and no lookers as yet otherwise would be also living out of the construction mess.

We have friends who have a farm in Stony Hill, spent New Years Eve with them and went to the White Mule Winery, it is south of Herman a few miles.

Know where that is, also have friends/co workers in Stony Hill, are the Traub family, not been to White Mule as yet but been by it a few times off 50 at Rosebud.

Are friends are the Corley family, the White Mule is good too. If you get a chance go try the Stoney Hill hall, pretty good food & hospitality there also.

Been a good day on the old girl(biotch, whatever), got to the farm this morning and tried a little finish grade work with my farm tractor, PITA! Slipping all over, no traction and soft sticky mud so I looked across the yard, Fat Alice had been sitting for some seven weeks so off the covers came. Fired right up, checked and tensioned the rails, lubed the boom and bucket then was off and running. Got maybe three or five somewhere in there yards moved around, flattened and track dressed, made it back to storage position and back home I came, was a good day in the sun at 75 degrees.
