Wire Connectors

Are these satisfactory to use on heavy equipment? Cleaning up some "loose ends" under the cab (mostly 14-18 gauge pilot wires) from rat damage and the wire locations are difficult to get to for crimp connectors & heat shrinking. These look ideal & time saving to boot. Plan to wrap the levers with tape and sleeve the entire harness, best I can. Supposed to handle a range of 12-28 gauge wire. Thanks!

The problem with that style of connector is that they have no protection whatsoever against condensation/water ingress, even if they were taped over after installation. I sympathize with your problem of difficult access. Don't know what else to suggest really.

Something like this might be able to get into where you need. https://www.amazon.com/OTC-5950A-Crimpro-Angled-Service/dp/B00CDDBAQU

Well ill be that guy. Remove the cab and do it correctly or you will soon or later regret it

Working on a 20 yr old Hyundai 290LC-7 30 ton Excavator, removing the cab is not feasible or warranted...has access plates underneath. Besides, Mr. Rat chews equally on new wire as patched wire (& has been chewing on the newly placed rat poison). In lieu of tape, will be liberally "caulking" the connectors with JB Weld. BTW, connectors worked great.

Ha ha...we'll try anything on rats & hogs.
