this was a nice little hole i dug out for a contractor who was installing a chassis dyno needless say digging with the stabilizers up sucks

  2. #2monster762014-09-15 21:57

a couple of offroad recoveries with the jeep and f250 was one day and new chevy was another day

  3. #3monster762014-09-15 22:08

this was a funny day battery terminal feel apart grounded out and took out my alternator i used some jumper cables managed to start the truck make it on only battery power to the job site 2nd 3rd and 4th pic are some footer we were doing for a church it had columns and was oddly shaped building last pic is me on the skid steer steer back filling some trenches for a plumbing contractor i dig for

  4. #4monster762014-09-15 22:16

first pic was a pad i had to demuck they specified 3' below the road grade now we have to bring it back up with lime rock fill and compact and dig footers and sqaure pad for some columns since this will be a raised house next couple of pics are for a buddy who has a nursery and he grows palms since down south its all hard lime stone we go down about a foot and plant the palms there and add soil to make a raised trench so they are easy pull when he sells them

  5. #5Aliate2014-09-15 23:40

Nice work man, especially with a backhoe

  6. #6CM19952014-09-16 09:05

Nice work. I bet the off road recoveries were the most profitable time spent out of all the pics, if they weren't your friends..

  7. #7monster762014-09-16 11:15

thanks aliate, and you are right about that cm its funny most of the time my buddy with a wrecker gets the calls and he doesn't want to get his truck dirty so he calls me in.

  8. #8monster762014-09-16 19:47

here is another off road recovery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKLqo29dBog

  9. #9monster762014-12-27 23:29

a temporary septic for a mobile office until this tree nursery finished the steel building they had in construction

  10. #10monster762014-12-27 23:36

a 3000 gallon grease trap i dug for needless to a say a bit challenging since my machine is not an ext hoe and we needed to dig almost 14ft but it got done and the depth was right

  11. #11monster762014-12-27 23:49

ill end the night with a pick of my backhoe right before i dropped it off at a job site incase any one is curious my set up there is a 94 ford l9000 single axle dump brand new eager beaver 20 ton tag and my 2010 deere 310sj

  12. #12Zaxis800Boy2014-12-28 11:01

that's a sharp little setup you got there!

  13. #13monster762014-12-28 13:48

    Thanks

  14. #14CM19952014-12-28 18:26

Nice looking rig all hooked together monster. Looks like you get into a wide range of projects and digging. I prefer to mix things up a bit as well. Good job(s).:drinkup

  15. #15Landclearer2014-12-28 18:42

Good looking work Monster. Tell me about your ground conditions. Looks like coral to me, how hard does it dig?

  16. #16monster762014-12-28 19:34

Landclearer its tough on the machine and some areas are coral some area are real white nice lime stone but either way 99% of the time we just have 5 or 6 inches of top soil and straight rock under neath. But its nice to work with honestly when I dig no having to worry about it caving in unlike when I work up north from me where its all sandy and loose soils

  17. #17Landclearer2014-12-28 19:42

Thanks for the info. That is what I thought. From the pics it looks like you get a fair amount of water coming in on you but like you said at least you do not have to worry about cave ins.

  18. #18monster762014-12-28 19:53

Down here in miami dade county the water table changes some areas I have it a foot or so below grade and some areas I bury to boom on the backhoe and it is dry as a bone but I do keep plenty of teeth and pins for the bucket on my hoe also the standard bucket on the backhoes just dont last down here

  19. #19Landclearer2014-12-28 19:55

I hear you! We don't wear teeth out at all around here unless you go inland and hit some of the really hard clay and it is very dry. Mostly we deal with sand and ground water.

  20. #20monster762015-01-25 21:56

I was working down by the ocean for a 20 x 40 swimming pool getting everything ready for the structural guys to set the pilings

  21. #21monster762015-01-25 22:01

    Couple more pics

  22. #22FSERVICE2015-01-25 22:41

monster76 THOSE ARE JUST DREADFUL WORKING CONDITIONS THERE!!!! don't get sunburned LOL its 42 here today & a very cold rain to go with it!!

  23. #23roddyo2015-01-26 00:12

Is that heading toward the keys?

  24. #24monster762015-01-26 05:06

One is heading towards the other is coming from the keys

  25. #25monster762015-01-26 05:08

Yea my gf brought me lunch and took the pictures lol I took the driving pics. she was like this is what you call work inwas like no boat no fishing pole.... yea its work with a better view

  26. #26monster762015-02-08 18:45

took down a couple decent sized royal poincianas for a lot we cleared in coral gables https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arCR6xEn-VI my father went and picked up the skid steer for me he always comes through couldn't ask for a better friend angle looked cool so i grabbed a photo unloaded the skiddy and hit a rebar hidden under the surface of some soft sand my uncle 430e needed to be moved and his truck was down at the momnet so i went and picked it up for him

  27. #27CM19952015-02-08 18:50

    :thumbsup

  28. #28Sawdus222015-02-08 20:08

That's a great looking rig right there with your dad. My dad is my best friend so I know where you are coming from, wouldn't trade him for anything:thumbsup Seems like your whole family has something to do with construction.

  29. #29monster762015-02-08 20:48

thanks guys, its funny how all of our clients are used to the oh you cant make it that day and they know im going to send my uncle and he does the same for me when we are to busy. i love when i can go work with old man though it still amazes me how smooth he is on the machine and how he always teaches me something new

  30. #30monster762015-02-11 21:44

back filling stem walls for a couples homes in the gables some times you have to make due with what you have let me tell you moving cubes of block with over the bucket forks really sucks

  31. #31dirty4fun2015-02-12 05:02

Moving cubes with a backhoe with forks would suck big time. Talk about working blindfolded. I am down by Sun City was riding my motorcycle yesterday. Enjoying the great weather, if I would of been around I sure would of been your ground man for a while. I sure enjoy watching those big B E draglines digging out phosphate that are around here.

  32. #32monster762015-02-12 05:33

I know what you mean every time i go to the qaurry i see every from the big haul trucks to train cars being loaded the drag line pulling tons of material at a time but yea i get the call to dig the footers and the cube of block where in the way, who ever bright idea it was to put 10 cubes in the middle of where the house was going needs to slapped back handed pimp style

  33. #33CM19952015-02-12 06:51

I feel your pain on both issues. No telling how many concrete blocks I loaded as youngster onto pallets and then moved with a skid that were leftover in new basements. The forks we had for the skid were normal forks, needed the 4 skinny tined type to move the cubes - never delivered on pallets. Then there was the footing dirt inside the basement to deal with as well. My task was to prep the basement slab for concrete. Have a 420DIT with forks, great for moving pre-cast boxes and pipe but sucks terribly trying to unload pallets from a truck as you can't see the tines from the seat.

  34. #34monster762015-03-06 20:46

i wish i had block forks but i only have regular forks so i made due

  35. #35monster762015-03-06 20:52

i was subbed out by a local landscaper to do some landscaping at our local Indian casino animal exhibit it was a fun job and i do these pretty often allot of local landscapers call me because i have experience putting in large trees is difficult areas although i will admit this one was pretty easy imo

  36. #36monster762015-03-06 21:08

lot i cleared in south Miami really sucks we had to take down such big beautiful oak but they needed to go down in the name of progress

  37. #37monster762015-03-06 21:16

pictures did not come out in order but basically had to bring down our lovely limestone area around this home almost 2 ft and piled it up and hauled it around 3 blocks away to spread and compacted on a later date for another home this guys are building

  38. #38monster762015-05-04 18:22

Just an old crack house we are taking down so the land owners can stopped getting fined

  39. #39monster762015-05-04 18:24

Tomorrow weather permitting i should be finishing up this little job

  40. #40CM19952015-05-04 19:05

Nice, I like those little demo's in and out quick. What's a 30 yard going for down there?

  41. #41monster762015-05-04 19:21

30's are going for 500, would have been nice if the house had more concrete since concrete as long as exposed rebar is cut is free to dump only cost is the hauling You are right about quick i started around 10am today and left at 3 because the rain gods were scaring me

  42. #42CM19952015-05-04 20:44

It's about the same here. Our dumpster pricing is a flat rate with a 6 ton cap, anything over the cap is priced from $20 to 30 a ton. Depending on location and distance to the landfill a 30 will run $350 to 425 flat rate with the tonnage cap.

  43. #43monster762015-05-04 20:53

ours is a 8 ton cap and a 80 dollars a ton over the 8 ton cap, except concrete on a 20yd can its 250 flat rate plus the local permit fee

  44. #44monster762015-05-07 08:02

So we finsihed the demo nice and early yesterday.and just.called it a day going to go backfill a couple stem wallas and among a few other things back to the old grind as usual

  45. #45CM19952015-05-07 20:17

Good job monster! Nice and neat.

  46. #46monster762015-05-07 21:17

thanks cm, a backhoe may not be the best tool for the job but it works

  47. #47Landclearer2015-05-08 17:09

As you said, a backhoe might not be the best machine but it works and looks like it works real good for you. Nice looking job!

  48. #48monster762015-05-08 17:15

Thanks im trying to save up to get me an excavator like a 160 or 200 hitachi or deere so i can take on bigger work and a dozer i just need one big high profit project to help me get those added to my fleet

  49. #49CM19952015-05-08 20:32

i feel your growing pains, we've all been through them and will continue going through them while growing a small business. Every step you take that's a bigger one than the stage your at, comes with them. Be it time, scheduling, manpower or equipment, we're all going to fall short and be overloaded while growing a business from time to time. I'm going through one of those stages at the moment. You did a great job with your backhoe, yes a jack of all trades and master of none but look at what you can do with it. That nice profit job is coming and it may take a few of those to get to where you want to be but keep your eye on your goal and keep producing good work - the rest will fall into place. I take my tag line to heart - Take what you win, run what you brung

  50. #50monster762015-05-09 07:55

Thanks cm for the kind words. Im just wanted that nice big job to get me on the map down here all the big jobs are handled by the big guys and im trying to get my.name out there for stuff other than the little demo or water extensions etc... i finally found one guy who wants to work, enjoys it, is on time and very careful so i try to keep him busy all the time . So lets see only time will tell we might see a thread about my new to me 200 hitachi or something to that extent

  51. #51monster762015-08-13 21:50

So the 200 hitachi i was looking for turned out to be a 240 linkbelt Has a hair over 9k hours but is strong and the ac works great. its a one owner operator machine and for a demo machine it is in very good shape cant wait to put her to work im going to clean her up real good repaint the counter wieght and re decal the machine since it really isnt to bad

  52. #52CM19952015-08-14 06:45

Congrats on the machine monster, hope it serves you well. That's a nice size machine, you can do a lot with that.

  53. #53JNB2015-08-14 09:04

That Linkbelt is a healthy step up. Do you have work scheduled for it? Looking forward to your updates!

  54. #54monster762015-08-14 11:56

Yes i have a few demos some drainage and water and aewer lined up for it already. I also have a dmall grotto to start with a water fall

  55. #55monster762015-10-19 11:20

A demo i just completed with the link belt. So far i am very pleased with the link belt especially on fuel very smooth so far i like it

  56. #56ddigger2015-10-19 14:10

    Well done!

  57. #57Landclearer2015-10-19 17:53

Clean demo job, it is nice to see that.

  58. #58CM19952015-10-19 18:46

Nice job! The Link Belt is earning it's keep.:thumbsup

  59. #59monster762015-11-14 20:59

A little clearing job basically just wanted me to make a couple windrows on each side of the power lines it was about 28 acres quick easy little job. I had to rent (borrow) lol a d6m over all pretty easy only thing that slowed us down was all the mud

  60. #60monster762015-11-14 21:14

Put the 950f to work. Derm Forced the property owner to remove about 2 feet of fill from his property because his property was an environmentally sensitive area and the fill he used was contaminated not sure with what. Been there 2 weeks pulling out about 300 truck loads a week still got about 600 more. That 950f definitely has impressed me my only complaint is damn she is thirsty.

  61. #61monster762015-11-18 21:36

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J5vJNy0trQ got a video of the linkbelt loaded of it just clearing out the last of the brush under the power lines total of 28 acres in some real nasty nasty mud

  62. #62monster762015-12-17 20:24

kind of got the 950 stuck the other night working late trying to get ahead on a project so we wouldn't have to work next week any how it was crazy how it literally fell in, that area is all hard pack there is no swampy area there but it looks like it dug once before and back filled with what ever they can find so go figure we got it out that is all that counts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onw54xnYqVA

  63. #63dirty4fun2015-12-18 05:57

Looks like you found out how far it was to good footing with your 950. I just got down south of Tampa for the winter, went for a ride on my motorcycle, Wednesday. While riding the back roads keep looking around at the ground, seeing either dry or water standing thinking be pretty easy to get stuck. Then throw in trying to work late and it seems for me things go wrong in a hurry. At least you had a backhoe to dig and help get out.

  64. #64Blk prince2015-12-18 16:56

Dirty4fun,I see you are in your holiday hotspot. Good trip down? Lots of chores ahead for your sister? Merry Xmas friend

  65. #65monster762015-12-18 18:42

i know but that whole area there only has a small layer maybe 6 inches of top soil then its all rock underneath it looks like the lake was over dug and backfilled because over there that should not have happened

  66. #66monster762016-04-20 22:15

a tree bar for my loader from scratch out of road plate and left over steel

  67. #67monster762016-04-20 22:18

moved a travelers palm with forks and a road plate and moved a 65ft+/- tall royal palm with the back yard built tree bar

  68. #68monster762016-04-20 22:20

had to set my asv to repair a drive motor onto my trailer so i could work on it easier and decided to test out hook we added to aid with lifting structures like drain basins and manholes etc.. and some pics from a recent demo with my old man on the excavator posing for a shot

  69. #69Browning.2702016-04-20 22:52

Nice work! Any more pics of that red ford? Is it a '79?

  70. #70CM19952016-04-21 06:45

That one palm tree is huge! Good work, nice clean demo.

  71. #71monster762016-04-23 20:23

yes its a 79 on 2.5 rockwells with a bbf c6 on 14.9 24 tractor tires it belongs to one of my guys he just keeps it at my place cm yes it was a big ol palm had to fill the tires with water to be able to move it but once we did that it picked it up moved it around like nothing
