I have a lot that is 30 feet wide by 100 feet long. Its on a hill and the slope is 4 feet over 30 feet. The 100 foot demension is fairly level. I was just thinking of digging about 3 feet out at the top and fill in the low area. What would be the best way to do this and level it.
pics would help alot
If you were to look at a cross section is the slope straight from the high point to the low point. If it is or fairly close if you draw a line at the 2 foot high level you will have two triangles and will be basically flipping the uppper one over on the lower one. So you will cut the high side 2 feet and move it to the low side. But what is on either side, what are you going to do to keep the dirt from flowing over into the neighbors lot at the low side. And what are you going to do to keep the neighbors lot on the high side from falling into your yard. Retaining walls?
well at first i was doing calculations, I just can't make 2 triangles buecause the neg area is sloped out more so it will take more fill thats why i was going to go alittle deeper up top. I was thinking about leaving area to slope it off to about a 45, at the top and bottom so i don't need retaining walls. On the high side i have another lot where the house is and on the bottom there is a row of thick bushes.
