year model help on CAT D6D

can anyone tell me what year a Cat D6D with the serial #5YB01445 is? Ive been told this is gray iron and a desirable dozer. Thanks

    It is a 1996 machine built in Indonesia it is grey Iron as far as a desirable dozer ? cant be much help but a states built D6D was a darn good machine.

    I've been thinking of a D6 as a future acquisition. I have run D6C's in the past and liked them a lot. What is the difference between a C and a D and which is the better way to go?
