Thanks for reading. I checked Cat website, as we've got an account, for info and shop manuals for procedure. could not find. Is it all right to put 1-2 psi air pressure in tank - on top of oil, crack inlet lines to pumps and tighten when air bleeds out and oil starts to flow - or fill inlet lines to res. as res in not open to atmosphere?
I assume you have installed different pumps not just changed the hyd oil. If so fill the pump cases with oil at the case drain hose connection, then fill the tank until you see oil in the sight glass. Put a test fitting with nothing attached to it on each pump pressure test nipple and wait for oil to bleed out. Top up hyd tank, start engine and idle for a few minutes then test functions for movement. Later Bob
Same pumps - had to work or transmission because fo large pirce of O-ring found in pump strainer on trans. case. It turns out it was from torque converter. Pumps removed not drained. Thank so much for yuur knowledge and sharing it. Oh, Wow - on pumps/motnrs with case drain they need to be filled completely from high point on case. They have the loader one-hundred miles away and the foreman wont help for one reason or another and so the mechanic called me for advice. Thanks again.
