1973 John Deere Fuel Gauge

My loaders Fuel gauge is doesnt work right. I checked the resistance from the sending unit and it seems to be working from the tank, i went to autozone and picked up a generic electric gauge but it wouldnt work. I am wondering where do you guys get your replacement gauges that will work for me? Thanks in advance Oh its on a 1973 JD 544-a

    There are several different resistance ranges used in these, and some work backwards, in other words if your tank was empty it would read full and vice versa. If you can figure out the full and empty ohms on your tank unit, Stewart Warner or VDO or ISSCO will have what you need.
