1990 Peterbilt Speedometer Stuck 30 MPH

My 1990 Pete speedometer is stuck at 30 MPH some times it drops to zero but will only go to 30 MPH and stays there. Not sure if the speedometer is bad or how to test it. Any and all help would be great thanks in advance. John

    What is the charging system putting out at 1500 rpm? Check it with a multimeter. Truck Shop

    Move two of the dip switches on the back of the speedometer and see if it changes. Just remember which two you moved. And check the speedometer sensor at rear of transmission to see if it's clean. Truck Shop
