My transmission has a small leak from where the forward/reverse lever connects to the valve on the top of the transmission. (red area on diagram) It appears like o-ring 23 would be the culprit. Anyone have a shop manual that covers 416b-436b that would explain how hard of a job this is? It seems like I would have to remove the entire valve assembly to replace the o-ring. It doesn't leak very much. Maybe 1 drop every 10 seconds. Would I be better off just adding fluid as needed?
With the floor removed it is an easy job. 1. Remove the floor plate from over the transmission. 2. Disconnect linkage (1) and wiring harness (5). 3. Remove the two bolts, and move bracket (2) away from the transmission control valve. 4. Remove remaining bolts (3) to remove transmission control valve (4). Inspect the gasket under the transmission control valve
Anything specific for replacing the seal? Just remove bolt #1 and pull the cylinder through the bottom or take off clip 28 and pull it through the top?
Remove the snap ring and pull it through the top.
Great - Thanks!
I have a 94 Cat 416b backhoe. My air conditioner compressor clutch does not cycle off unless the ac is turned off in the cab. The ac and clutch are new. Also noticed after running a few min. the pressure on the low side goes to 0psi high side is 150psi. The temp. here is 60F. Thanks for any help with this.
It should be 30psi or so on the low side. With it almost pulling a vacuum, it might be a restricted orifice tube. Here's a page of trouble shooting AC: http://www.aircondition.com/tech/questions/82/ http://youracauthority.com/acterms/Auto-AC-Compressor-Clutch-Cycling-Switch.shtml The thing that doesn't make sense is why the clutch stays engaged. There's a low pressure cutout switch in there, if the pressure gets below 25psi, it's supposed to shut the compressor off. That's to protect the compressor, no oil circulation. The oil is carried by the refrigerant. Did you have a compressor failure? Usually you have to take the system apart and flush all the metal crap that the compressor threw into the system. Install a new orifice tube and accumulator, that's where most of the junk ends up. Rebuilt compressor builders won't honor the warranty if you don't flush and install new parts. Any cooling from the vents?
