Have a 1996 John Deere 310D Back Hoe and it worked perfectly fine one day and yesterday I went to move it and it will not go forward or reverse. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?

Your 1996 310D should have a Borgue Warner reverser/shuttle same as my 1992. Several electrical issues could be the cause. The FNR lever on the steering column, buttons on the loader lever and shift lever and then the park brake switch are all linked to and can cause the shuttle to stay in neutral. I would first check the electrical connector at the shuttle. Maybe damage or corroded connection somewhere. Hopefully others will post ideas to help. Does your reverse beeper sound off when you shift to reverse?

Check for a blown fuse or defective relay. Like Deon suggest, if the machine "thinks" it's in neutral, it wont move.
