has any one used 5w-30 for winter time
I have not used it but my books say it is used between -22 ° F and 50 ° F .
I always use 15W-40 in my 1845C. Have friends with two 1840's and they tried the thinner oil but they didn't start any easier, or worse. Wound up replacing their immersion heaters to ease cold weather starting. I keep mine plugged in during the winter months so really don't see any need for the thinner oil winter, or summer.
