I am new here, looking for some info, looking for a hoe for farm use. pretty tough to find decent used around here(usually a small fortune if its good), found a 05 310G(non turbo), 6700hrs, 4x4, 1.25yd bucket, 22" hoe bucket, with extendable dipper, asking 35,000$(CAD). Will we regret this size of machine, should we be looking for a SG or 410 instead? Currently have an 05 JD 325 skidsteer and a 544H wheel loader so would like to stick with JD. Thanks for opinions/comments.
it's becoming more difficult to find good backhoes at a good price. The new ones have gone up in price I suppose due to the week Canadian dollar. A 310G is slower on the road and has slower, weaker hydraulics and smallish front wheels. I would rather have an SG. But if it's in good condition and well maintained it will be just a reliable as the SG and probably plenty strong for your work. Hours are getting up there but if we'll maintained its still got years of life left.
Thanks, it seems like a pretty tight machine but we're a bit concerened that it won't have the lift/dig capacity were expecting. Have been keeping our eyes open for good 710(good luck). Most guys around here seem to run SG or SJ or 410's. Just for an example local Brandt tractor has 410G , 11000hrs, no extend, 44000$(cad)! A well used case 580M(1996) 10000hrs , went for 26000$(private sale) seems like any used hoe is gone right away.
