Look under the plate on your shift lever should be lights. far right light S or 8 is green it is your speed sensor with rpm sensor loss will only shift 1st and 2nd

No ....just a normal shifter that u turn for gear 1 to 4 ....look to be the speed sensor ...anyone find a better deal than 900$ for the sensor ???

380004A1 , 87611747 , 8100228 , 85817029 Anyone can tell me if all those parts number are the same sensor ...it seem they are the same but start at 200$ to 900$

  12. #12alrman2017-10-11 21:49

Yes they all relate to the same part, you have a mix of CNH & New Holland numbers. (Not sure on 8100228) CNH 380004A1 now subs to 87611747 NH 85817029 now subs to 87611747 Originally you could purchase just the speed sensor & you would have to fit it to the original wiring input plug for the control valve. Just guessing, but now you probably purchase the complete control valve loom, including the speed sensor main input plug & connectors for all control solenoids. Hence the big price difference........

Suplier sell the sensor for 138$ but u need to buy the sensor from a dealer at 800$ thats really sucks

Look up your part number on ebay or amazon and go from there

  15. #15Pascal2017-10-16 18:35

  16. #16Pascal2017-10-17 22:38

Get on line and either use bing or google there is some good info out there, you can even try youtube. But you might try your local dealer they may give you the info you need.

Item 41 is the sensor & the pic is of it in the valve - with valve removed. If you look VERY closely at the pins at the plug at the control valve (X35) - each pin has an identifying letter next to it. This is what each pin controls.

Here is the schematic for a 580SM ser 1 - I don't have anything later 130 is the plug at the control valve 129 is the plug at the control module I hope this is of some help
